- Avoid staining products like tea, coffee or smoke on that day
- Brush 2-3 times daily for 3-4 mins with proper brushing techniques
- Use dental floss as per instructed on interdental areas (in between teeth) where brushing is not possible or in between fillings
- Interdental brush may required to use as per instructed where normal brushing is not possible.
- Good brand of toothpaste and brush should be used as prescribed. Most of cases medium bristle brush are used they are efficient removal of plaque and debris and cause less wearing of the teeth. Some may be prescribed with soft bristle brushes because those patients are highly sensitive to brushing and larger wearing of the teeth. Tooth paste with larger quantity of abrasive should be avoided so can cause brightening of teeth in same time wearing of teeth. Fluoride containing toothpaste are also good which prevention of caries and it should be used above 6 years only and should not be used in places where water have high fluoride concentrations.
- Brushing should be followed with mouthwash which double improves oral health condition. Mouthwashes contain antiseptics prevents bacterial overgrowth and prevents or improve from periodontal diseases. Anticaries mouthwashes which contain fluoride also prevent caries and can be used by child above 6 years who are highly prone to caries. Mouth rinses can be used 2-3 times a day after brushing if possible
