Dr. Manik Ratna Bajracharya born in Jan 1st, 1945 at Kathmandu, Nepal had conducted following activities during his active life period time till today October 2009.

  1. 1. Passed Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from University of Bombay in Oct 1968
  2. 2. Fellow of Dental Surgery (FDS RCPS) Glasg. from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and Scotland, UK in Sep 1978 after working and studying two and half years in London and six months at Cannisburn Hospital, Glasgow, Scotland.
  3. 3. Fellow of International College of Continuing Dental Education (FICCDE) awarded in Singapore in April 1999 during Annual Asia Pacific Dental Federation Congress. Dr. Bajracharya was awarded for his excellent services performed and doing many social activities about dental health problems as a whole.

  8. Chief Dental Officer of Government of Nepal acting as Chief Consultant of Dental faculty of Ministry of Health form 1992 to 2004
  9. Dental Officer of Government of Nepal from 1969 to 2004. During that period he had worked as Unit Head of Dental Department in Biratnagar Zonal Hospital, Lumbini Zonal Hospital, Kanti Children Hospital's Dental Mobile Camp Unit and in Bir Hospital.

  1. Attended as Chief Delegate of Government of Nepal and NOHS in 82nd FDI World Dental Congress at Vancouver, Canada from Oct 2-8, 1994 in the Year of Oral Health declared by WHO
  2. Attended in International Congress on Oral Cancer in Gifu, Japan 22-23 Sep, 1995 at the invitation of the organizing committee of the congress.
  3. Attended as Chief Delegate of Nepal Oral Health Society in 83rd FDI World dental Congress in Hong Kong at the invitation of FDI Executive Committee from 23-27 Oct, 1995.
  4. Attended as Chief Delegate of Nepal Oral Health Society in 3rd South Asian Association of Dental Federation, Congress in Dhaka, Bangladesh at the Invitation of SAADF from 28 Nov to 1 Dec 1995. Dr. Bajracharya was elected vice president of South Asian Association of Dental Federation during congress scientific meeting he was Chairman of one of scientific session and also he presented a paper on "Oral Cancer Prevalence in Nepal"
  5. Attended as Chief Delegate of NOHS in the workshop on Oral Health Care in Asia Pacific Region organized by APDF in Taiwan from 2 - 4 Nov, 1996.
  6. Attended as Chief Delegate of Government of Nepal and NOHS in the workshop in improving oral health care of children in Asia Pacific Region jointly organized by Asia Pacific dental Federation and International College of Continuing Dental Education in Manila, Philippines in 1997. During the workshop speech on "Oral Health Problem among Children in Nepal" was presented.
  7. On invitation of Netherlands /NOHS association, visited different Dental Hospital and Dental clinic of Netherland to study how Dental service in Netherland is conducting from 22 - 28 September 1998.
  8. Attended as a chief delegate of govt. of Nepal from 1-5 Oct, 2002 in Vienna and participated Chief Govt. Dental Officer's of different country workshop in order to make a format "How should govt. perform for better Dental Health education and services"
  9. Attended as a chief delegate of NOHS in the 21st Asia Pacific Dental Congress at Singapore from 21-25 April 1999 during the congress. He was felicitated fellow of International collage of continuing dental education jointly by APDF and FICCDE for his valuable contribution in improving Oral Health in this region as a whole specially in Nepal.
  10. Attended as Chief Delegate of Govt. of Nepal and NOHS in Annual FDI World Dental Federation Congress in Barcelona, Spain from 8-12 Oct. 1998 and also he had presented scientific paper on "Prevalence of Oral Cancer in Nepal during the period of 1972-1992."

Past Main Extracurricular Activities in Nepal
  1. Organized 1st International Scientific Meeting in Nepal as a part of FDI continuing dental education in the capacity of Organizing chairman of Joint FDI NOHS Scientific program from sep. 11-12, 1997, in Kathmandu Nepal. Delegate from Japan, Canada, India, Bangladesh also had attended scientific program, then prime minister Lokendra B. Chand was the chief guest of the opening ceremony program.
  2. Conducted as a coordinator of Nepal Govt. and FDI organized Oral Health Camp at Nagarkot on 1 Jan 2000 to mark starting FDI World Dental Federation Centenary Program started from Nepal. Then Health minister Dr. Ram Baran Yadav was the chief guest in opening ceremony. 450 patients attended the camp. This was conducted with the collaboration with Health Ministry of Government of Nepal.
  3. As a capacity of co-chairman of jointly organized by Singapore Dental Society and FDI conducted 2nd Scientific Meeting of FDI as a part of as one of the activity of FDI centenary program. FDI program manager Prof. Choo Teck Chuan of Singapore was Chairperson. It was held form 4 -5 March 2000.
  4. NOHS held reception program on a occasion of establishment of FDI world dental federation in Paris on 15th August 1900. As a president of Nepal Oral Health Society many dignitaries like WHO representative, state minister of Health, Director General of Health services and many other dignitaries was invited.
  5. Dr. Bajracharya was felicitated by Nepal Dental Association for valuable activates in promoting oral health services in Nepal and in abroad in September 2, 2006 during 6th Annual Nepal Dental Association Conference.
  6. Felicitated by Organizing Committee of Indo Nepal Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon for respectively devotedly contributed in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery from historic era in 26th June, 2009 in Kathmandu.
  7. Organizing Chairman of 11th Annual Nepal Dental Association Conference in which Prime Minister Madav Kumar Nepal was Chief Guest on that occasion. The conference was held in 12-13 Sep, 2009 in Kathmandu.
  8. Chief Guest on the event of Joint Scientific NDA FDI in 2008 as a part of Continuing Dental Education Program of FDI in Nepal.
  9. During his service period in Bir Hospital he had performed 1st opened surgery of jaw fracture in 1978 and many surgery of tumour, fracture, cleft lip, TMJ ankylosis, etc. During that period he was given a post of Chief Dental Officer as well as Chief Dental Consultant of Govt. of Nepal and he was promoted as 3rd Head of Dental Department of Bir Hospital from 1992 to 2004.
  10. During period as a Chairman of Dental Committee of Nepal Medical Council he inspected Dental wing of BPIKHS, Dharan, Peoples Dental College and gave permission to start dental wing of Bhairawa Medical College.
